Eurobroadmap Conference (30th Nov./2nd Dec.)

Europe seen from here and elsewhere

International Colloquium

♦ WHAT? The conference intends to examine in a critical way the geographical representations of the world in general - and Europe in particular - that are currently available both within and beyond Europe.

This field is organized following 3 main streams :

  • "Europe" of the mind (different subjective visions of "Europe in the world")
  • The conflation of "Europe" with the "European Union" (how “Europe” could, or should, be distinguished from the European Union)
  • Borders, networks and fuzzy regionalisation of the world (division of the world into regions or continents: innovative visions)

Relevant scientific disciplines involved: Geography, Sociology, Politics, International Relations, International Studies...

♦ WHEN? 1 and 2 december 2011 (Welcome drink November 30th, 7 p.m. in Rouen City Hall).

♦ PROGRAMME Download the Official Programme
